Have you ever had a customer or client say something like, "wow, I had no idea you guys offered that"? As a salesperson or business owner this can be good news for the company, but the takeaway for an in-house marketing professional should be different.

Take for example one of TradeMark's valued clients and longtime Knoxville footwear hub, Elliott's.

Elliots Sandals Billboard

When most Knoxvillians when hear the name Elliott's the de facto response is boots. While being considered the go-to footwear outfitter with a name synonymous for great customer service, unmatched selection and top quality brands, boots is still the initial thought. Cowboy boots and work boots. Elliott's even changed their logo and branding to "Boots Shoes and Sandals" to help raise awareness.

One of Elliott's goals was to inform consumers and raise awareness in the companies' various "outdoor lifestyle" footwear offerings that fall outside of the boot category. One of those offerings being the iconic sandal company, Chaco. But the question still remained- how do we shift the public's perception that we cater to more than cowboys and tradespeople?

Enter the TradeMark team. For businesses that desire sustained growth and long-term success in new categories, changing a customers' perception is a battle that must be won over time. Sometimes a simple, subtle ad campaign can do wonders for creating that gradual shift in perception. We hope this billboard does exactly that. And who doesn't love lake days in their Chacos?
